LCTCS Construction Training
For anyone seeking a career that requires learning a trade, Louisiana offers a wealth of great opportunities. Louisiana employers are expected to fill over 80,000 skilled industrial construction jobs through 2016. In today’s market, there are not enough qualified welders, pipefitters, carpenters, scaffold builders, electricians and other trade crafts people in the state to meet that demand. That’s where you come in. Studies show, there will be over 30,000 new construction careers opportunities along Louisiana’s Interstate 10 with emphasis in the greater Lake Charles, Baton rouge, & New Orleans areas.
Louisiana’s Community and Technical Colleges are adding classes at all their 14 college locations to quickly train Louisiana residents so they can qualify for these well-paying jobs. These highly skilled positions also offer the promise of long-term careers. Many training programs are just 12 weeks or less and lead to an Industry Based Certification. Salaries start at $15 plus per hour.
