Carl D. Perkins
Program
The Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act is a source of federal funding to support continuous improvement in vocational, career and technical education. LCTCS administers this yearly grant that provides funding to eligible programs found at community colleges, two-year associate programs at universities, the technical college, and secondary parish/city school systems. In addition to program improvement, specific categories of Perkins funds are available for corrections, tech prep, and America's Career Resource Network (ACRN).
Louisiana's State Plan for Carl Perkins Vocational and Technical Education established the following overall goals for eligible recipients in the administration of career and technical education programs:
