Mellington is Chair of the Board. He is on the board of directors and executive committee for the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry and serves on the statewide Secondary School Redesign Commission. He is active with the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, the Council for a Better Louisiana (CABL), the United Way of Acadiana, and the Sertoma Club. He was nominated to the Board by the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry.

Mr. Mellington was re-appointed on January 11, 2008, and his service end date is July 1, 2013.
