The mission of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) is to improve the quality of life of our citizens through educational programs offered through our colleges. The System strives to increase the opportunity for Louisiana’s workforce to succeed through skills training programs and works to provide our citizens the opportunity of learning continuously. The LCTCS is committed to teaching what is needed, when it is needed, and where it is needed.

LCTCS colleges, campuses or extensions are located in 60 of the 64 parishes throughout the state. Approximately 80% of our students are between the ages of 18 to 34 years of age. The average age of our students is 27.

In addition to providing general education and workforce training curriculums, our colleges provide training and/or retraining for Louisiana’s employees through the Incumbent Worker Training Program.

Our colleges are open admissions institutions, meaning that there are no restrictive requirements (i.e., particular grade point averages or test scores) that would prohibit student entry.
