Real Solutions for Louisiana Campaign
Funds donated to this campaign are used to support policy research and development, public education and engagement activities, marketing and public relations, and other related activities. Funds contributed to this campaign are considered unrestricted in order to allow for maximum latitude in their use.
Undesignated / Unrestricted
The LCTCS Foundation welcomes donations that are undesignated. Undesignated funds are considered unrestricted by the LCTCS Foundation and will be used where the needs are most urgent. Administrative support to operate the Foundation is also provided for from unrestricted donations. These costs are kept to a minimum due to the in-kind support provided by the LCTCS.
The President's Fund
The President's Fund supports the Office of the President and for initiatives that advance the mission of community and technical colleges. These include public engagement activities, advocacy, marketing and public relations, leadership and staff development, the LCTCS Annual Conference, and other related activities. Donations to the President's Fund are considered unrestricted.
The Philanthropy Initiative
The Philanthropy Initiative is a fund dedicated to assisting LCTCS colleges in strengthening their Foundations and increasing their private fundraising expertise by providing training, technology, and mini-grants for chancellor, staff, and board development. Funds donated to the Philanthropy Initiative will be restricted to this purpose.
LCTCS International Programs
The International Programs fund supports the international initiatives of the LCTCS which strengthen college academic programs, develop a globally competitive workforce, and position the LCTCS to compete for Federal grants. Examples of current international programs include training and outreach programs to Saudi Arabia, India, and Russia. Donations to LCTCS International Programs will be restricted to this purpose.
Salzburg Global Seminar
The Salzburg Global Seminar is a week-long, intensive global studies program conducted in Salzburg, Austria for community college students and faculty designed to expand the world view of two-year students who typically do not have the opportunity for international studies. Thanks to the vision and support of the AT&T Foundation, the LCTCS Foundation has adopted the Salzburg Global Seminar as a signature initiative, sending one or more LCTCS colleges to participate in the program every year. Donations to the Salzburg Global Seminar will be restricted for this purpose.
Walter Gayle Bumphus Endowment
The Walter Gayle Bumphus Endowment was established to endow a fund for the Office of the System President of the LCTCS. The purpose of the endowment is to support public engagement activities, advocacy, marketing and public relations, leadership and staff development, the LCTCS Annual Conference, and other related activities. Gifts to the endowment are permanently restricted and are therefore never to be spent; however, the earnings on the endowment will be used to support the activities outlined above.
Sterling Forbes Memorial Scholarship Endowment
The Sterling Forbes Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established to remember a culinary student at the Capital Area Technical College in Baton Rouge who perished in a boating accident on May 22, 2009. The endowment provides a $500 scholarship to culinary students at the Baton Rouge technical college campus. Gifts to the endowment are permanently restricted and are therefore never to be spent; however, the earnings on the endowment will be used to fund the scholarship.
Dwight Wesson Memorial Scholarship Endowment
The Dwight Wesson Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established to remember an instrumentation instructor at the Northwest Technical College in Minden who taught the program for 40 years. The endowment provides a $500 scholarship to culinary students at the Baton Rouge technical college campus. Gifts to the endowment are permanently restricted and are therefore never to be spent; however, the earnings on the endowment will be used to fund the scholarship.
TIC Construction Technology Scholarship Endowment
The TIC Construction Technology Scholarship Endowment was established to provide scholarships for students studying construction technology programs throughout the state at the campuses of the LTC. Gifts to the endowment are permanently restricted and are therefore never to be spent; however, the earnings on the endowment will be used to fund the scholarships.
Capital Area Technical College General Fund
The Capital Area Technical College General Fund supports the greatest needs on the campuses of the Capital Area Technical College. The use of this fund is determined by the leadership of the college. Gifts to this fund are considered unrestricted.
Northwest Technical College General Fund
The Northwest Technical College General Fund supports the greatest needs on the campuses of the Northwest Technical College. The use of this fund is determined by the leadership of the college. Gifts to this fund are considered unrestricted.
