We all have lost someone dear to us, but maybe not in a tragic situation as this. However, know that the Lord loves you and use this as an opportunity to become closer to Him. No one knows the day or hour, but you can have the confidence in knowing that you'll forever be in His presence. I love you all and my prayers are with you. Remain close to one another and what you do with the rest of your lives will be your gift back to your departed ones. They are merely asleep, for they shall always live in your hearts and memories. With Deepest Sympathy, C. J. Simmons
-- C. J. Simmons, Student (Liberal Arts Concentration), BRCC, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Me and family are praying for the family of this sad occasion, but keep God first and he will see you truth your times of sorrow.
-- Michelle James, Nursing student, LTC Baton Rouge, Maringouin, Louisiana
The "why" of senseless and tragic acts of violence such as this can never fully be understood by those in society who will never countenance such actions. The lives of the innocent, deprived of their rightful journey through life, and those survivors scarred by the aftermath of this horror may have their anguish assuaged by the certain knowledge that those who endure such horrors will carry with them the loving memories of those lost, and in their turn become advocates of change to address and prevent school violence. On behalf of the students, staff and faculty of Mineral Area College, I express to you all our sorrow, our condolences, and the fervent hope for an end to school violence in all its forms.
-- Mark S. Potratz, Director- Dept. of Public Safety, Mineral Area College, Park Hills, Missouri

Remember that day, remember the young lives that were TAKEN that day, remember their families and especially their children. Even after the media forgets and moves on to another story. Always Remember...
-- Brandy Cooley, Baton Rouge Community College, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Karsheika had a beautiful spirit. She was very compassionate to patients and her co-workers. We all loved her and will miss her dearly. Never late for work and never called in. Always doing extra, even though she didn't have to. I felt like she was one of my children. I lost one of my sons 3 months ago, a former nurse that graduated from LTC. This was an extra blow to the heart for me, but prayers will help us get over this difficult mountain. Remember, our appointment time is already predetermined by God!
-- Katherine Oubre, RN, Fresenius Medical Care, Prairieville, Louisiana
The next time you see someone sitting alone or you can see their pain, reach out. Sit and talk, just say "hey, how are you? Loneliness can be very powerful and sad.For the rest of our lives we are connected through this tragedy. Remember, a touch. a simple word, even just catching someone's eyes and smiling, may save a life. My condolences to all.
-- Madonna Lane, LTC Baton Rouge, Louisiana

I would like to express my deepest condolences to Baton Rouge Community College on the recent tragedy that has impacted your campus so terribly. Violence of this nature should never have been a concern for any college community, and I am very sorry to see that you have now been touched by it.
You are in my thoughts today. Though I do not speak on behalf of my university, I am certain you are in the thoughts and prayers of all of our students and staff as well. My best to you as you recover from this ordeal. This insanity must end.
Sincerely,
-- Patrick Craig, Wright State University, Dayton, OH
