When Methanex decided to move a major part of its operations from Punta Arenas, Chile, to Geismar, Louisiana, River Parishes Community College (RPCC) provided management team consultation and team building retreats as the management teams were being developed. Shortly after, Methanex made a leading donation to help build RPCC’s new technical training center.
Methanex has consistently provided consultation and advice for RPCC's process technology program as well as donated funds, time and materials.
Recently, Methanex sent RPCC a sizable donation of furniture, office supplies, and welding supplies for its current technical training programs. Methanex also donated equipment that has enhanced RPCC's highly successful, four week NCCCO mobile crane operator training program.
As RPCC anticipates retro-fitting a fully operational chemical plant on the campus, Methanex has agreed to help create a virtual control room and process simulation lab for RPCC's state of the art technical training center.
