Louisiana's Community and Technical Colleges

Central Louisiana Technical Community College (CLTCC) is proud to recognize RoyOMartin as one of its primary business partners.  RoyOMartin continues to “raise the bar” in Central Louisiana through educational partnerships that benefit new hires and the entire community.

RoyOMartin is the trade name of a group of family-owned, professionally managed wood products and forestland-management companies based in Alexandria, Louisiana. Founded in 1923, the organization currently employs approximately 1,100 people and operates plywood and timbers mill in Chopin, Louisiana, and an oriented strand board (OSB) mill in Oakdale, Louisiana.

In December 2015, Roy O. Martin III, president & CFO of RoyOMartin, announced the company's plan to hire 25 new employees and utilize CLTCC for training. A month later, RoyOMartin rolled out its Certified4Success paid-training program, hired more than 20 employees, and immediately enrolled them in the Workforce Development Certification for Manufacturing (C4M) program at CLTCC.

Their first day on the job was at CLTCC in March 2016.  These employees are being paid $12 per hour plus benefits, while receiving customized, hands-on instruction needed to succeed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Graduates of Certified4Success training can earn college credit and go on to full-time employment as production team members at RoyOMartin’s Chopin, Louisiana, plywood manufacturing plant – recognized as the safest facility of its kind in North America.

Thank you to RoyOMartin for supporting our efforts to improve the quality of life of Louisiana residents through educational programming offered through our colleges.
