Locally, Northrop Grumman operates the Lake Charles Maintenance and Modification Center to provide superior aircraft refurbishment services, modification work, and skilled engineering to its customers.
Graduates of SOWELA’s Aircraft Maintenance Technology program have the opportunity to go to work for Northrop Grumman as they pursue their studies in its Lake Charles facility.
Lake Charles operations serve the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to maintain the E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARTS) aircraft and the KC-10 Extender, the premier air refueling asset for the USAF.
With operations in 27 countries and all 50 states, SOWELA’s Aviation Maintenance graduates also have the option to seek employment with Northrop Grumman in various locations throughout the world.
Northrop Grumman’s Lake Charles Site Manager currently serves on the SOWELA Foundation Board of Directors, and the past Site Manager was elected to serve on the Foundation’s Advisory Panel and maintain his support.
Northrop Grumman has contributed more than $65,000 to the SOWELA Foundation over the past seven years in support of the college, its programs, and students.
