Located very close to Delgado's City Park Campus, Ralph's on the Park has been a long time partner of the Delgado Culinary Arts department.
Ralph Brennan, of the famed Brennan family of New Orleans, owns Ralph's Brennan Restaurant Group. The restaurant serves a contemporary Creole menu throughout the week for both lunch and dinner and brunch on Sunday.
At the heart of the restaurant is New Orleans born and bred Chef Chip Flanagan, whose globally inspired interpretations of local cuisine is influenced by the eccentricity, diversity and traditions for which New Orleans is known. Flanagan is a Delgado Culinary Arts graduate. His Executive Sous Chef, Jordan Herndon, is another Delgado Culinary graduate. Others, employed at Ralph's, are also Delgado Culinary graduates as well.
Whenever asked, Ralph's employees are always willing to help in any way. Whether it is to evaluate an exam, provide a guest lecture, or serve on the advisory committee, the staff at Ralph's can be counted on to fill the request. Most importantly, they provide an excellent site for chef apprentices to gain valuable experience.
For its entire existence, the staff at Ralph's on the Park has been eager to recruit and provide practical experience for countless apprentices. Many have moved on to enjoy very successful careers. They regularly participate in department-hosted career fairs.
Since the restaurant opened about 15 years ago, Ralph's has provided employment for about 50 Delgado Culinary program students and graduates. Many remain with the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group. When they move on, the Delgado students are employed at the lead cook level or higher.
