Sarah Marin, a native of Brusly, Louisiana, is a recent graduate of Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) where she majored in elementary education.
Before attending college, Marin was home-schooled. After earning her diploma, she became a recipient of the TOPS performance scholarship.
“I could have entered a four-year university for my freshman year, [but] I chose to attend a college with smaller class sizes to make that transition,” said Marin. “The smaller class sizes enabled me to get a lot of ‘one-on-one’ time with my teachers and to form bonds with my classmates. The teachers really want you to succeed and your classmates become a great support system.”
Marin received an Associate of Science degree in teaching from BRCC and transferred to Louisiana State University to continue her education.
