J.P. Kelly

James P. “J.P.” Kelly is a veteran educator and entrepreneur with 28 years of experience serving Louisiana students. He has worked as a teacher, coach, administrator, Athletic Director, and Advancement Director throughout his educational career. Mr. Kelly is the Co-Founder of i2 Tickets, a Louisiana-based technology company that serves more than 80 schools statewide. He is a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, holds a B.A. from LSU, and earned a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Kelly has been married to his wife, Alicia, for 27 years, and they have three children: Peter, Libbie, and Patrick.

Mr. Kelly was appointed by the Governor on November 12, 2025 and his service end date is July 1, 2031. He represents the sixth congressional district, as required by statute.
