Around the horn: CUrrent efforts and strategies

Baton Rouge Community College is the process of developing community based forums. 

Delgado Community College has outlined 9 action items to engage the community in dialogue and raise awareness. Chancellor Steib has met with each action committee and provided the individual charges that would be addressed. Fletcher Technical Community College recently set up a taskforce, worked with the Sloane Group and developed a mission statement. 

Northshore Technical Community College has established a taskforce to ensure sustainable and measurable goals and objectives centered on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The taskforce has established committees to focus on Assessment & Planning, Mission Statement & Curriculum, Representation/Recruitment, Mentorship, and Conversation/Awareness and Planning. In addition, the college is researching a campus climate survey to guide current and future planning. 

Nunez Community College has drafted a strategic plan to include Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. 

River Parishes Community College created a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to the new student orientation module to promote awareness. 

South Louisiana Community College's Center of Minority Excellence is hosting a "If These Streets Could Talk" series focusing on creating a safe space for people to participate in dialogue that brings forth purpose and perspective.
